Kittens receive donations during ARL’s Kitten Shower

Kitten season is here and with that in mind, the ARL team organized the first 2022 Kitten Shower at Ridgewood Winery. During the event, families donated supplies and toys for the baby kittens that already started arriving at the ARL.

Donations included: boxes of litter, blankets, kitten formula, bags of food, wet wipes, baby food, and more!

Between the months of April - October, the ARL can receive as many as 500 cats per month, most of them kittens under the age of 10 weeks old. It takes an immense amount of resources to care for kittens until they are of age to be adopted by their new families, and the help of our community is needed to ensure they survive to find a forever home.

How to help?

Foster

Kittens of all ages come into our care, from a few days old to a couple of months old and we must provide care for all of them. This is where our foster families come in and provide temporary homes to kittens that aren’t quite ready for adoption. This could be because they are too young, need to gain weight, are sick, or need to be socialized. The ARL provides all training, supplies, and support to all foster families to make this the best experience for both you and your kittens.

At the moment, we have lots of baby kittens that need to be fed from a bottle throughout the day. In the video below, Lexy, our Foster Coordinator shows you just how simple it is to bottle feed a baby kitten.

Donate supplies from our wishlists

Formula and supplies to take care of baby kittens are always needed. Our wish lists offer people a greater list of specific items to shop for to help animals in need. Each company will then ship your purchase directly to the shelter.
